Obituary for JANE PARKER MOUNT
Jane Parker Mount, age 79, resident of Huntingtown, MD, finally lost her long battle with pulmonary disease on Sunday, May 13, 2018. She died peacefully, with her family gathered around, at the Burnett Calvert Hospice House.
Jane worked more than twenty-five years in Prince George's County Public Schools. After earning her teaching credential at American University, she began teaching second grade in New Carrollton. Her career was varied over the years, with stints as a full-time home & hospital teacher, as a compensatory education teacher, and as a special education teacher. Near the end of her career, she returned to her first love, working as a Primary (Grades 1-3) teacher. During her retirement, she served as a family educational resource for her three grandchildren.
Jane is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years James Lester Mount, her daughter Christine Joy (Neaverth) Michelsen, son-in-law Eric Michelsen, her grandchildren Andrew Michelsen, Raymond Michelsen, Angela Michelsen, niece Kelly (Pohlenz) Green, and nephew Scott Pohlenz (wife Laura and daughters Lily and Mary).
A celebration of life will be held, at a later date, for friends and family.
