Obituary for JAMES WILBUR DENT
James Wilbur Dent departed this life on Monday, February 24, 2020. Wilbur, as he was affectionately known, was the eleventh of 13 children born to the late Joseph Dent and Eliza Gross, on April 10, 1931.
Wilbur was educated in the Calvert County Public school system. In elementary school, Wilbur along with Amos Johnson would arrive early to the Lusby School to make a fire each morning to ensure that the school was warm when the other students and teacher arrived, and also tasked with providing buckets of drinking water.
Wilbur was jointed in Holy matrimony to Ann Janey in the 1950’s.
Wilbur was a hard-working man and good provider for his family. He worked numerous jobs throughout his lifetime… Labor Construction for the Rapp Co., in Beltsville, MD, Calvert Nursing Center, Prince Frederick, MD, Calvert County Jail, Prince Frederick, MD, and the Sawmill, Lusby, MD.
Wilbur was a quiet man that stayed to himself. He enjoyed Lawncare and being outdoors. In his younger days, his hobbies included riding his motorcycle on weekends.
James Wilbur Dent leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife Ann Dent; children, James Dent Gregory Dent, LaVern Moore, Valerie Dent, Timothy Dent, Sandy Dent, and Lynn Dent; one sister, Catherine Johnson: 13 Grand-children: 11 great Grandchildren: 3 great- great grand-children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Him in death; 3 children, Ivy, Brad, and Larry.
