Obituary for JAMES F. BUCK
James Franklin Buck was born November 21, 1955 in Calvert County, Maryland to Alverta and the late Andrew Buck. He transitioned from this life early in the morning on Saturday, March 3l"at the Burnett Calvert Hospice House, Prince Frederick, MD.
James was educated in the Calvert County Public School system and graduated from Calvert Senior High in 1974. During his high school years, he loved being on the basketball team at Calvert where he set the pace for his late brother Ernest.
James didn't set idle after graduation. In December of 1974 he joined the Federal Highway Administration Bridge Construction Training Program – Northern System Company. He joined the army in 1976 and was honorably discharged in 1979. He became active in the National Guard Reserve and also worked as a laborer at the BG&E power plant and several other companies. Later he worked as a service worker for Calvert County Public School until his health began to fail him.
James was a very sociable and kind-hearted person who always had a smile that you would see before you saw all of him. He loved listening to music, dancing to the music, as well as making people laugh. James loved reading and had quite a library of books. Ok, y’all Dallas Cowboys fans may not like this but James was a diehard Redskins fan!
Left to cherish their memories are: his mother Alverta; sisters: Alice Pinkney (Gerald) and Bernice; aunts: Gladys Buck and Marnett Stewart; nieces: Allison and G'niel Pinkney; nephew: Timothy Mackall; a devoted cousin: George Buck (Doris) and devoted friends: Regina Gray, Eugene Lake, and Val Sutton. James also leaves an abundance of cousins and friends.
