Obituary for INEZ MARGARET HOLLAND
Inez Margaret Rice Holland was born June 12, 1928 to the late Joseph and Josie Rice. On January 16, 2020 Inez peacefully departed this life at Calvert Health in Prince Frederick, MD.
Inez was raised in Calvert County and was educated in Calvert's public school system. She was reared in a God loving family and she attended Mt Hope Methodist Church with her siblings.
Later, she met Oscar E. Holland, Sr. and the two of them united in holy matrimony on June 22, 1946. From this union were born eight children. At this time, she became a member of St. Edmund's United Methodist Church where she attended services with her husband and family. Ultimately in 1964, Inez, along with her family, became members of the Church of God, Lothian, MD where she remained an active member until she was no longer able.
Inez was an avid homemaker. At any time you could find her in the kitchen cooking delicious meals and baking desserts or performing other duties. She loved her family and it was her life's work to assure that they were well-tended to and provided for. As a mother, she was loving, kind and tenderhearted. But her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren. She was concerned with their well-being and became their babysitter, advisor, confidant or whatever capacity was needed.
You were our Proverbs 31 Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and we will forever hold her in our hearts. We Love You to Heaven! She leaves precious and fond memories to her son, Oscar (Janice), son, McKinley (Sandee), son Ray (Latrice), son Jay (Jessie); daughter, Ellen Lewis (Billy), and daughter, Malana Savoy (Robert). Her husband Oscar, and daughters Betty Winchester and Margo Gantt preceded her in death. She also leaves cherished memories to 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
