Obituary for HILDA V. JOHNSON
Hilda Vietta Johnson was born on September 11, 1943 in Calvert County Maryland to the late Rufus A. Tucker Sr. and Hilda L. Franklin, she was the second born of nine children.
Life began in Calvert County, moved to Lothian and Upper Marlboro, MD and ended in McCormick, South Carolina on August 24, 2018.
Hilda received her primary education in the Anne Arundel County School System. Hilda began her personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, at an early age, Sollers United Methodist Church, Lothian, MD, Union United Methodist Church, Upper Marlboro, MD and New Hope Baptist Church, McCormick, SC. When Vie was in MD she would always visit The Philadelphia Open Door Redeemed Apostolic Church of Christ. She loved her Lord and work very hard in all of His Earthly Homes, she loved her Church families, you could always find her singing on the Choir, working in the kitchen, and if you needed anything all you had to do was ask.
Hilda enjoyed singing, listening to Gospel Music, Dancing, Cooking (many talked about her Potato Salad) Fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
Hilda was preceded in death, by her husband, Benjamin M. Johnson, her father, Rufus A. Tucker, Sr., her mother, Hilda L. Franklin, three brothers, James E. Tucker, Rufus A. Tucker, Jr., and Douglas P. Tucker.
Hilda leaves to cherish her memories: two brothers, Norman C. Tucker and Levi Glenn Tucker; three sisters, Alice M. Carroll, Thelma R. Douglas, and Gloria M. Bias; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Tucker, Jacqueline Tucker, and Maria Tucker; two brothers-in-law, Robert Bias and Michael Washington; one aunt and uncle, Robert and Clarice Sellman; one step-son, Alfred Johnson; three step-daughters, Mary Canady, Kathy Archer, and Maxine Johnson. Her family line would be too many to name, Franklins (Calvert County) on the mother side, Tuckers (Ford & Petersburg, VA) on the father side.
A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. She would often go over the family tree and speak of everyone, she loved her family.
Her special friends were many and she spoke of them often: Rev. Michael & Linda Butler, Rev. & Mrs. Victor O. Johnson, Mr. Mansfield Prince, Mr. Francis Brown, Mr. Albert & Annie Brown, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Marshall, Ms. Emily Sutton, Ms. Betty Bums, Ms. Jackie Peters, Mr. Richard Cole, Mr. John Mason and family.
