Obituary for Florence J. Wills

Florence Sadie Jones Wills, 83 of Prince Frederick, MD, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at her residence. She was born Sunday, November 8, 1925 in Washington, D.C. to the late Clyde W. Jones, Sr. and the late Pearl L. Hicks Jones. Florence attended the Calvert County Public Schools. She spent much of her adult life as a Caregiver and Domestic Specialist. Much of her professional career was spent in Peekskill, NY. She had outstanding taste for china and her beloved draperies. She kept at least 3 sets for each window. Florence enjoyed the finer things of life and loved entertaining family and friends. Her nieces and nephews spent summer vacationing with her. She was a very giving person. Her second career was that of a Home Care Provider. She opened her home to patients, often without family, who needed a managed communal setting. For the past two decades, she devoted years to providing guidance and support to De'Andre' Claggett.Florence loved to drive . Just say the word and she was ready to go. She was not the best with directions, but she always made it to her destination. On one occasion as family members awaited her flight information, she appeared in the driveway having made the trans-continental trip solo from California. She loved good music and food. An avid fan of Wilson Pickett and B.B. King, Florence never missed an opportunity to celebrate life. At times it seemed as if her motto was "Don't worry, be happy."She leaves to mourn a daughter-in-law, Arcola Camper Evans; a granddaughter, Cassandra Evans David; a great granddaughter, Shannon Nicole David; uncle, Benjamin Jones (wife, Marian); siblings, Alberta Payne, Clyde W. Jones, Jr. (wife, Bertha), and Ilean Ray (husband, Carl), and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wills, her only child, John Wesley "Judy" Evans, Jr., and a sister, Margaret Johnson.Funeral services were held at Sewell Funeral Home, Friday, January 2, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with Dana M. Jones, officiating.Interment was at Mt. Hope UM Church Cemetery, Sunderland, MD.Pallbearers were her nephews.Honorary Pallbearers were Clyde W. Jones, Jr. and Carl Ray
