Obituary for Eloise Madeline Ray

Eloise Madeline Ray, 87 of Huntingtown, MD, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C..
She was born Friday, September 24, 1920 in Lower Marlboro, MD to the late Marion Holland and the late Mabel (Scott) Holland. She was educated in the schools of Calvert County.
Eloise was united in marriage to the late Elmer Columbus Ray in 1939. From this union they were blessed with daughters, Shirley Jackson, the late Alma Malloy, and Patricia Gorman. She was a foster mother to Fawn, Francis, Teresa, and Jeanine. She worked as a Housewife.
Eloise was baptized September 4, 1957 at the Bethel Way of the Cross Church. She became a member of Mt. Gethsemane Holiness Church on December 3, 1996. Eloise was a faithful, dedicated worshipper and servant of God who stood on the truth of Gods word and lived what she testified. Eloise was the president of the missionary board, past vice president of the senior choir and remained an honorary member.
Eloise leaves to cherish her memory Shirley Ray Jackson (David), Patricia Gorman, Jeanine Reed, Fawn, Francis, Teresa Gethers. Three grandchildren, Wayne Jackson (Michelle), Dovena Jackson, and Rashard Aiken; ten great-grandchildren, Amber, Demarie, April, Earl, Trayen, Whitley, Nekita, Shawnita, Jaquawn, and Taylor; two sisters, Lovelette Reid and Betty Watts; six brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; four adopted daughters, Earnestine Powell, Rosemary Heard, Willa Mae Plater, and Eugenia James-Hall; adopted sister, Mary C. Gross; many nieces and nephews and devoted friends.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at the day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Timothy II 4:7-8
