Obituary for ELIZABETH TYLER
Elizabeth Dawkins Tyler, affectionately known as “Mother, Nana and Liz Licious” was born on January 20, 1942 to the late James and Sarah Hairston. Elizabeth transitioned from Earth to Glory on October 3,2020.
Elizabeth received her education from Martinsville Public Schools and after attending other Colleges she graduated from Howard University. She was employed with several Corporations including Navy Recruiting Command, Federal Trade Commission, PRC Inc. and retiring from DCS Corporation in 2012.
Elizabeth met Virgil Dawkins in 1960 and from this union they were blessed with 5 sons, Dudley, Cornell, Anthony, Ramael and Keith. She later married Robert Tyler.
Elizabeth had a style of her own ,and always stepped out with class. She loved Shopping, Bowling and being in Bowling Leagues, and enjoyed a good card game while spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Gray Ray Post 220 in Prince Frederick, MD.
Elizabeth was a faithful member of Greater Bible Way Church where she would let you know that she loved her Leaders. She was also known as a member of the “Golden Girls” along with Irene Williams, Ruth Harrod & the late Pearlie Brown. When you saw one you saw all or knew they were near.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her Parents James & Sarah Hairston, Sons; Keith, Darryl and Benis Dawkins, Best Friends; Marion Pettiford and Eulla Hairston. Left to cherish her memory Sons; Dudley, Cornell (Lydia), Anthony Dawkins and Ramael Datcher, 1 Sister; Teresa (Michael) Hassell, 1 Brother; James Hairston Jr., 21 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren, Special Friends; Irene Williams and Ruth Harrod along with her very Special Friend Paul Everett and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
