Obituary for Dwight Leroy Bishop

Dwight Leroy Bishop, 37 of Sunderland, MD, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Prince George's Hospital.
He was born Wednesday, August 5, 1970 at Calvert Memorial Hospital to Lustine Bishop and Constance Brooks. He was educated in the Calvert County Public Schools. Dwight started his career as a construction worker with Bentzel Enterprise where he was employed for a few years before changing jobs and working for Goodyear Tires in Prince Frederick, MD. Later he worked at Ralph's Dodge in Prince Frederick, MD where he also took classes and received his mechanics certification. In January of this year, he changed employment and started working at the Ford and Dodge Dealership in Waldorf, MD.
He became a member of Community Church of Praise of Chesapeake Beach, MD in 1999.
He realized his love for his trade early as he enjoyed working with his father at different jobs. His passion for detailing vehicles brought him many opportunities to show his talents and love for the art. He also loved attending and entering car shows and took great pride and pleasure in his work.
In May of 1993, Dwight married Dorisa Johnson and from that union they had one son, Quant'e Bishop and one step-son, Jamar Gross. He leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Lustine and Constance; three brothers, Collidge, Donald, and Gerald Bishop; three sisters, Brenda Moulden, Sylvia Bishop, and Sofia Johnson; father-in-law, Ollie Johnson; mother-in-law, Mary Parker; brothers-in-law, Jeff Moulden, DeWayne Johnson, Melvin Jones, Paul Parker, Douglas, James, Ollie, and Gregory Johnson; sisters-in-law, Flecia Brooks, Deidre Jones, Velvet Parker, Letitia and Melissa Johnson; a Goddaughter, Keona; a Godson, Joshua and a special niece, Tierra Parker as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, Yaz and Ferbie.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Timothy Brooks and Robert Bishop; grandfathers, William Bishop and Maryland Brooks; grandmothers, Cora Bishop and Josephine Brooks.
Funeral services were held at Brooks UM Church, St. Leonard, MD on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Kay Albury officiating.
Interment was at Mt. Hope UM Church Cemetery, Sunderland, MD.
Pallbearers were Sammy Green, Philander Holland, Charles Mackall, Dexter Mackall, Charley Randall, Jr., Sherrod Wilkerson.
