Obituary for DRUSILLA WOODY GOUGH

Drusilla Woody Gough was born January 3, 1923 to the late Ludie Woody and Gertrude Beasley in Spartanburg, SC. She transitioned to her new life on Monday morning, December 1, 2014 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Lusby, MD.

Drusilla known to many as Ms. Ceil, was a loving, caring & sweet spirited, mother, wife, and friend. She was well loved and received by everyone she came in contact with. She was a private lady with a bubbly personality that everyone loved and enjoyed. She received her education in the public school system of SC. She moved to Washington, DC as a teenager and lived there until she was united in holy matrimony to Melvin "Big Daddy'' Gough. This union as a combined family made them the parents of 6 children which brought her to Dowell, Maryland where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Drusilla worked for the Union Station Railroad/ Amtrak for 20 years until she retired in 1979. She and her husband Big Daddy Gough loved fishing, having cookouts and entertaining family and friends throughout the year. She was a member of St. John UMC and attended service with her daughter Sheila. Her illness caused her to forget a lot of things, but she never forgot Psalms 23 and the old hymns of the church.

Drusilla was preceded in death by her siblings, Willie, Rosabelle, Mozella, Ludie (Brut), Getus, Vera & Wilbert; her husband, "Big Daddy'' Melvin Gough; his 2 sons, Ralph & Melvin; one granddaughter, Patricia, and her son-in-law Gerald Watkins, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughter Sheila Watkins, her 3 sons: Henry (Joan), Michael (Jennette), Mark (Karen); another daughter in-law. Judy; 8 grandsons: David, Keith(Leslie), Karleyun (Patrice), Gerald II, Derwin (Shawna), Nehemiah (Laura), Michael and Marcus (Alicia); 7 granddaughters, Anita (Joseph), Carla (Richard), Ingrid, Vanessa, Jynelle (Willie), Terry and Alicia (Andrew); 13 great grandchildren, a host of nieces & nephews and 2 special Goddaughters Patricia Hargrove & Aretha Walls.

Her presence in this world will be truly missed. The family will go through a time of sorrow, knowing that joy cometh in the morning while striving to focus on the good times they shared with her. She loved well and was well loved by her family.
