Dora Lee Jefferson, known to most as “T.V.”, departed this life on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
Born on February 21, 1953 to Thelma Sutton and Oswald Gross. She attended school in the Calvert County Public School System.
She was baptized in Jesus name and a member of The New Harvest Ministries in St. Mary’s County, MD, under the leadership Pastor Aaron McCray. Dora was a very loving, giving, selfless soul, who always looked out for everyone. She never thought it robbery to cook a meal for a stranger or to give of her time.
Dora was an amazing chef and worked at some of the well-known spots in Calvert County; Gateway and Solomons Pier, just to name a few.
She had been employed as a chef at the Calvert County Detention Center, until her retirement in 1984. Dora was a fighter and even though she was disabled, she enjoyed her life to the fullest. She enjoyed spending time in bible study, with her family, her friends, and listening to her music. She also liked watching movies, with lots of action and westerns.
She was preceded in death by her father (Oswald Gross) and her mother (Thelma Sutton).
She leaves to cherish her memory her 4 daughters; Felicia Smallwood(Michael Harper), Tonya Mackall, Nina Jefferson, & Desharn Parran(Maurice). Her 10 grandchildren; Lutece Jefferson, Ashley Shubrooks, Shanice Parran, T’Andra Mackall, Terell Parran, Erin Mackall, Shakur Butler, Aaron Mackall, Jr., Brandon Mackall, and Ian Jefferson. 6 Great-grandchildren; Trent Gray, D’Mari Taylor, Emmanuel Jones, Janiyah Claggett, Trinity Gray, and Xavier Butler. 7 sisters; Velma Parker, Libby Milburn, Wanda Watts(Johnny), Marie Gross, Eunice Walker, Sandra Fenwick, and Crystal Shorter (Peanut). 3 brothers; Larry Gross(Teresa); Phillip Sutton(Barbara) and Jermaine Jones. Aunts; Roberta Sutton and Maryann Sutton. Special friends; Valerie Mason, Sheila Woody, Stacey Ray, Jacqueline Harris, and Francis Evans, just to name a few. As well as, a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and her Church Family at New Harvest Ministries.
