Obituary for DERRICK STEWART SHERBERT
Derrick Stewart Sherbert was born on December 14, 1978, in Prince Frederick, Maryland to Melvin Sherbert and Joyce Mackall Sherbert. Derrick quietly departed his life on Sunday, July 4, 2010.He received his education in the Calvert County School System and graduated from Calvert High School in the Class of 1997. Prior to his untimely death, he was employed as a certified welder at MDL Manufacturing Industries.Derrick was extremely family oriented and enjoyed helping and being with his friends. His favorite past times were spent with his special friends --- Dwayne, Dorelle, Cling HJ, and the late Donte Foote. They all enjoyed watching football, riding dirt bikes, and playing pool together or just hanging out. Even though Derrick did not have children of his own, he loved all of this nieces and nephews as his very own. He always attended all of their events and provided things to them when needed.Derrick leaves to cherish his fond memories, his parents Melvin Sherbert Sr. and Joyce Mackall Sherbert; Grandparents - James and Ann Mackall; Grandfather - Oliver Sherbert; three sisters - Melissa Gross, Monique Holland, and Yolanda Sherbert; two brothers - Melvin Jr. and James Sherbert; two brother-in-laws - Bernard Gross and Dwayne Holland; one sister-in-law - Yvette Sherbert; five nephews - Bryan Rawlings, Jaelen Gross, Reyquon and Jamal Holland, and Christopher Soto; four nieces - Kiana Sherbert, Lauren Gross, Monae Holland, and Destiny Sherbert; one godchild - Dontrell Brooks; and a host of uncles, aunts, and other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his Grandmother - Hattie Jeanette Sherbert; Great Grandparents - James and Mildred Foote, Calvert and Pauline Mackall, Oliver and Florence Sherbert, and John Wesley Stewart and Florence Stewart Duke.Derrick's sense of humor brought joy, excitement, and love to all the lives he touched. His warmth and smile will be remembered and missed by all.
