Obituary for DAVID L. NUTTER

David was born on January 8, 1950 to the late Robert and Lillian Nutter of Nanticoke, Maryland.
He graduated from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Maryland and obtained his mechanic's certification from Lincoln Technical Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he sang on the choir.
David relocated to Calvert County and on May 30, 1989, he was joined in matrimony with Janice Fletcher.
David had a wit about him and could fix almost anything. If you needed a handyman, he was your man. He was always quick to use those skills when needed by others. David had a real passion for fishing. Being on the water brought him much joy. He knew the water like the back of his hand and would stay out on his boat all day. Day after day after day. Everyone who knew David also knew he loved his lottery tickets. It didn't matter what the winning number was, David had the winning ticket in his wallet. Before he became ill, he worked many jobs allowing him to utilize the skills of his trade. Even in illness, his heart was still focused on getting things fixed. On November 25, 2009, he departed this life after an extended stay at the South River Health and Rehabilitation Center.Cherishing his memory, he leaves a devoted wife, Janice Nutter of Harwood, Maryland; daughters Tara Thompson (Alphonso), Bonnie and Tina Smith and Dawn Myles (Vaughn); sisters Teresa Allen (Lewis) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Romaine Mayberry of Sunderland, Maryland; brother Edward Nutter (Brenda) of Nanticoke, Maryland, sisters-in-law, Edith Nutter, Carlise Brooks, Bertha Collins (Robert), Lillian Benjamin (Merton), Velma Knight (Columbus) and Linda White (William); brothers-in-law Harold Fletcher (Marion), Joseph Fletcher (Clarice), and Marvin Fletcher; an aunt, Lydia Bowen; mother-in-law, Valerie Fletcher; grandchildren Alphonso, Jr., Preston, Renarda, Jemar, Ashley, Tyrell, Kaitlyn and Mackenzie; great grandchildren Jaylen and Jaden; nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Robert Nutter.
