Obituary for DALE ELLIS JOHNSON
Dole Ellis Johnson, the first child of Marilyn G. Johnson and John A. Johnson Jr. was born November 16, 1961 in Calvert County, Maryland. He transitioned from this life peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Chesapeake Shore's Nursing Home in Lexington Park, MD. Dale graduated from Calvert High School in 1980. While attending High School he successfully completed vocational studies in Masonry. Dale was no stranger to hard work and he held several noteworthy positions from security officer, to fiber glass technician, to vehicle pointer, to masonry. Dale was very passionate about repairing boats and painting. In 1999 Dale was featured in a magazine for building a 50-foot power boat called "Miss Lori." He specialized in fiberglass and resin. On September 7, 2000, Dale accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and Savior and was baptized by Reverend John D. Snowden at Brooks Unite Methodist Church in St. Leonard, Maryland. Outside of work Dale's hobbies included fishing, playing horseshoes, barbequing, watching his favorite NFL team "Redskins", and listening to his oldies but goodies. His favorite genre of music was funk. He was the biggest fan of George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. Prior to Dale's illness he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren (whom in his eyes did no wrong). When Dale wasn't at home he could be found on J Loyd Bowen Road at his Cousin David Washington's house where he enjoyed laughing at the many funny joke's Cousin David shared or you could find him on Hance Road visiting his Aunt Amelia. In 2008 Dale proposed to the love of his life Miss. Wyannda Harris; unfortunately with his declining health the marriage was not fulfilled. Dale was proceeded in death by his parents; John and Marilyn, grandparents; Albert and Ernestine Johnson, William and Henrietta Bourne, grandson; Anthony Plater, nephew; Rodney "Rudy" Gray, one of his favorite cousins; Michael Harris and as Dale would say "his son/best friend" his dog Buddy. Dale leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Garnett Hawkins (Reginald) Cynthia Johnson (Joseph}, La Toya Sincere (David). Eight grandchildren Tyhir and Nevaeh Plater, lmani, Jamar, Kafifyah, and Omari Sincere, Jahmil Murphy, and Kaden Douglas. Siblings; Veronica Brooks, Glen, John, Dwan (Bernadette}, Joyce Tobin (Benjamin), Darren, and Shelly Gray (Rodney), fiance Wyannda Harris, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
