Obituary for CLARA EARLENE CONTRERAS
Clara Earlene Boyd Sweetney Contreras affectionately known as Clara to some or Earlene to others departed this life on February 11, 2017. She was born June 1, 1951 in Calvert County, Maryland. Clara was educated at Calvert High school, Prince Frederick, Maryland. Clara was a pharmacy technician for many years at Giant Foods, Prince Frederick, Maryland. Her true passion was sewing and interior decorating. She started her company L YB Designs, designing and manufacturing fashion handbags and accessories in honor of her late daughter.
Clara was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Lavone Yvette Booker, her mother Bernice Irene Boyd and father Benjamin Gross. Clara is survived by her son, Robert Cornell Sweetney (Crystal), three Grandsons, David Delontae "Dee" Gore (Tyteanna), Rashard Booker, Cornell Vashon Sweetney, one Granddaughter, Alexis Gore, one Great granddaughter Dakota Yvette Gore, Great Grandson Carter Jamir Knight, six brothers, William Boyd, Sr. (Betty), Benjamin Boyd (Doris), Sylvester Boyd, Gerald Boyd, Sr., Allen "Sonny" Johnson (EllaMae), Robert Gross (Barbara Jean), four sisters, Annestan Boyd, Sharon Boyd, Marylou Pinkney, Irene Gross, two aunts Maude Johnson, Celeste Mackall, special friends Charles Claggett and Katrina Encarnacion, a special friend and caretaker, Jamie Walls, and a host of nieces (a very special niece Devonna Franklin), nephews, cousins and friends.
