Christine Barbara Smith, the beloved daughter of the late Geneive and Edward Smith, was born on September 1, 1959. She departed this life peacefully on April 15, 2011, after a brief illness.Tina, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was educated in the Calvert County Public Schools. She had several occupations.She was very dedicated to her family and helpful with homework assignments. She was a loving and giving individual who had a great sense of humor. She always had words of encouragement for others to lighten their spirits. She was willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could. Throughout her brief illness, she spoke of her trust in God and kept a positive attitude.Her hobbies included dancing, singing, drawing, reading, and watching her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.Tina was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Woodland; and two brother-in-laws, Walter Louis Fields and James Black.She leaves to mourn two sons, Elvis Hurley, Jr. (Junior) and Landis Ricardo Brown (Gilbert); one grandson, Tylik Ricardo Brown; two granddaughters, Rakkyah Daniel Hurley (Kyah) and Logan Christine Brown; one great-grandson, Rashad James Hamlin (Jigga Man); six sisters, Bertha Fields of Sunderland, Gladys Black of Seat Pleasant, Algea Gray of Annapolis, Paulette Commodore (Charles) of Port Republic, Diane Smith of Baltimore, and Roberta Smith of Annapolis; five brothers, Edward Smith of Prince Frederick, Joseph Smith (Martha) of Annapolis, Chester Smith (Christine) of Prince Frederick, Louis Smith (Brenda) of Sunderland, and Spike Smith (Stacey) of Sunderland; and a loving and devoted special family member, Ruby Smith; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends.She was a cherished member of the family and will be greatly missed by all who came in contact with her. To know her was to love her.
