Obituary for CARRIE LUCILLE KEELER
Carrie Lucille Brooks-Keeler (Lucy) graced the lives of Mary Bernice Freeland-Brooks and James Edward Brooks on March 2, 1944. She was the fifth child of eight children, born and raised in Calvert County, MD, where she attended William Samson Brooks High School. She attended Greater Bibleway Church in her early days, until she decided to travel to New York City. After the death of her husband Edward Keeler Sr. in 2001, she decided to call Newark, Delaware her home.
While In New York, Lucy specialized in catering and event planning. She also did bartending for Mr. Bill Keys. After a while, she went on to catering for only private events. People enjoyed her food, and the love she prepared it with.
Lucy was smart, knowledgeable, loving, caring, and all around a great person. Lucy was a "people person" there wasn't any question about that. As we all know, Lucy loved cooking, that was her thing. Her fashion spoke for itself and she had a never-ending love for her family. Everyone al Asbury Community Center where she was residing before she deported this earth was fond of Lucy. They'd say "her presence would light up a room".
Our sister, aunt, cousin and friend Lucy will be truly missed. On Saturday, June 24, 2017 the lord took his precious angel home. Lucy Is preceded her in death by, her Parents; husband Edward Keeler Sr., and her two brothers Sarge and Edward Brooks; two stepsons, Tony Keeler and Edward Keeler Jr.; two nephews, Montell Brooks Jr. and Montell Brooks Sr.
