Obituary for Brittany Lee Hawkins

Brittany Hawkins was born in Calvert County, Maryland on February 26, 1989 to William Leroy Hawkins and Dynisha L. Brown. She graduated from Northern High School in 2007 and after graduation she attended College of Southern Maryland, transferred to the University of Delaware and in the fall of 2008 to the University of Maryland Baltimore College where she was pursuing a degree in Biology. She had recently become a member of Spirit of Faith Christian Center. Brittany was an athlete at heart. There was never a sport that she wouldnt attempt to play. Her first experience with sports began in the 6th grade and quickly became a big part of her life. She enjoyed basketball, excelled in field hockey and enjoyed lacrosse and track. She would always give her all to everything she did, sports included. She contributed much of her love for the games and her successes to her coaches, Clarence Tennell, Tony Reynolds, Ed Balute, Terri Hagner and Bridgett Lojocono. Brittany was loving and full of life with a promising career ahead of her. She was studying to fulfill her long awaited dream as a Trauma Surgeon. During her career, she was employed as a medic with AAA Transport, in Lothian, MD. She also was a member of North Beach Volunteer Fire Department where she once held the rank SGT/FF/ EMT and a member of Calvert Advance Life Support. Brittany dedicated her life to helping people; she spent many hours volunteering with Calvert Advance Life Support. She fully enjoyed being a medic and devoted her life to helping and saving others. Brittany was a firm believer in organ donations and in her death others continue to live because of her passion for life.Brittany leaves to cherish her memories to her Mother, Dynisha Brown and her Father William Lee Hawkins; Brothers; Jason McNeal and Justin Hawkins; Paternal siblings; Xzavier, Juwan, Jacobe, Kendra, Keyonna, Perrez, Toya Davis; Maternal Grandmother Violet Jones; Paternal Grandmother; Cora Smith; (3) Aunts; Roudene Labon, Janice Hawkins and Phyllis Hawkins; five maternal great aunts; seven maternal great uncles; First cousins Japonica Washington and Steven Knight who were like her sister and brother; Fianc Matthew Kelley; Her beloved Dog Ciara; Brittany had a host of other relatives and close friends. She was preceded in death by her Grandfathers Wesley Jones, Wilford Coates, William Leroy Hawkins Sr., Great Grandmother Ethel Brown.
