Obituary for Bobby Lewis King, Sr.

Bobby Lewis King, Sr. was born on November 11, 1944 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Wilson King, Sr. Born in Washington DC, he was the fourth of nine children beget from this union. He departed this life at 10:20 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
A native of Washington DC, Bobby received his education from the public school systems of The District of Columbia, and Calvert County Maryland. He was the vice president of the W.S. Brooks High School class of 1965. Some of his interests were physical fitness, drama, and believe it or not, chorus. He briefly enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation.
He offered wise and practical counsel to his children. DeLita enjoyed walks and extensive conversations with her dad. Bobby "BK" and his father spent pleasant times together; when you saw one, you would see the other. The Farmers Market was one of their favorite places to visit.
Bobbys multi-faceted career included various jobs in the construction industry. However, primarily he was employed as a service technician for Calvert Well Drilling and until his death he was a truck driver for American Mechanical Services, AMS. He was an extremely dedicated and dependable employee that never complained about circumstances, situations, or even the weather.
Some of Bobbys favorite pastimes were riding his bicycle and going to Budds Creek. Times spent with family and friends were very precious to him, especially with his grandson and great nephews. The philosopher in him offered a bit of advice to all he came in contact with. Bobby was thoughtful and kind. He had a love for old cars and vintage shopping. G-Pop and Uncle Bobby, as he was called, put many smiles on young faces with his heres a little something for you, phrase while handing you a gift he had chosen especially for you.
Bobby was preceded in death by four siblings: Oneida King 1974, Eddie King 1999, Tekolia Dockery and Woodrow Wilson King, Jr. 2003.
Bobby leaves to cherish his memories: one daughter DeLita Nadene White and her husband Robert V. White, one son Bobby Lewis King, Jr.; a grandson Robert A. White; four siblings Marian Frances King, Pekolia King-Mackall (Ronald), Lopez King Chew, and Tyrone King (Diane); one sister-in-law Carolyn King; six nieces, eight nephews, two great nieces, seven great nephews, and a host of relatives and friends that will miss him tremendously.
