Obituary for Bessie R. Dyson

Bessie Rosetta Dyson was born on March 25, 1929 to the late Louise and John "Dan" Reynolds.
It was in Calvert County that Bessie received her formal education through the Public School System. And it was at Brooks United Methodist Church from where she was baptized and continued as a life-time member up until her death. Although Bessie was not ever "out front" in leading others to Christ, she was a "behind the scenes," quiet, yet very present worshiper and financial supporter of Brooks United Methodist Church. Bessie lived out her faith most of all as being a "good" and "devoted" friend to those who needed support and encouragement.Bessie was joined in Holy matrimony to the late John S. Dyson. From their union three children were born: Sylvia, Christine (deceased) and Langford.

Bessie made her house a "home" for her family with cooking, cleaning and rising early each morning. For a short interval, she worked as a "domestic worker" in efforts to augment the financial needs of her family. But when her mother, the late Louise Reynolds became ill, Bessie became her care-taker until her death.

Besides attending church, Bessie loved to shop, get her hair done at her niece's hands, (Alice Mackall), talk to her friends and drive with her friends to places of interest and relaxation. While at home, Bessie was intrigued with televised game shows. Suddenly, on Friday May 16, 2008, Bessie rose early that morning to meet Jesus who was the Lord and Savior of her life. Her sickness, disappointments and pain was now over. She now received her crown of Life. And those who pre-deceased her were there to greet her. They include: her parents, John "Dan" & Louise Reynolds; husband, John S. Dyson; daughter, Christine Gant; granddaughter, Tamara Brown; and sister-in-law, Laura Reynolds.
Bessie leaves to celebrate her "new" life: her daughter, Sylvia Dyson and son, Langford Dyson; granddaughter, Tonique Gantt; great granddaughter, Aeliyah Waul; brother, Ernest Reynolds; son-in-law, Anthony Gantt; four special friends, Mrs. Delores Brooks, Mrs. Thelma Johnson, Mrs. Jacqueline Page and Mrs. Marian Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
