GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Be the first to share your favorite memory, photo or story of BLONDELL. This memorial page is dedicated for family, friends and future generations to celebrate the life of their loved one.
We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
At the age 12, Blondell was baptized and began serving the Lord. He was a member of Brooks Methodist Youth Fellowship. His cousin William Sewell and he went to church at night to be able to sit in reverence of God alone. He jogged and played tennis most of his life and later golf. He loved outside living.
One probably couldn't tell him that he didn't grill the best steak. His best friends Larry Brooks and Steward Adams were everything to him. Always supportive with whatever he wanted to do. His friend Ray Balbour (of Florida), always was there to play golf and talk. While in Florida, he was a member of the HOSTS club.
Blondell always aspired to play piano and guitar and had nothing but continuous praise for his nephew-in-law, Kevin, who would come and teach him guitar lessons almost every Wednesday. He loved people very much but the love for his wife Barbara was paramount! To him, there was no other like her; there is nothing he wouldn't do for her.
Blondell and Barbara were like two-peas-in-a-pod (never one without the other). They travelled near and far! One of their favorite places to go was Paris. His grandchildren Austin, Carson, Thomas James and Crosby literally had him wrapped around their fingers. Each will miss him greatly.
Blondell was preceded in death by his father and mother Blondell and Pinkie Mason, his brother Anthony, (Valerie). He leaves to mourn, his wife Barbara, son Howard Petty, daughter-in-law Katie, his grandchildren, Austin, Carson, Thomas James and Crosby. His brothers; George (Velma), Ricky (Marilyn), John B. (Debbie), his sisters; Pinkie Diane Strother (Robert), Gloria and Tara Mason, Velvet Wallace (Mark), a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Heathen
