Barbara Arista Joy Brown, 69, passed away peacefully answering the Lord's call to come home on January 3, 2011.
Born in Plum Point, Maryland on October 4, 1941, Barbara was the daughter of Bernard and Emma (Harrod) Brown. A graduate of W.S. Brooks High School, she continued her education at the Federal City College, Washington, D.C., studying sociology.

Barbara's spirituality was demonstrated through her acts of compassion, kindness, thoughtfulness, charity and love given throughout her life. She was always doing something for her family, friends and others within her community. She never waited to be asked, but just quietly stepped in whenever or wherever there was a need.
