Obituary for Agnes M. Freeland

Agnes Marie Freeland, 51 of Chesapeake Beach, MD, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital.She was born Saturday, October 20, 1956 in Prince Frederick, MD to the late James Edward Johnson and the late Eva Elizabeth Harrod Butler.She attended the public schools of Calvert County and attended the Calvert Career Center specializing in nursing.  She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Calvert Memorial Hospital and the Calvert County Nursing Center.  She also worked as a home health aide.  Agnes furthered her education through training as a security officer.  She enjoyed a successful career in the Security field.  First, as a Program Manager for Area Wide Security Service supervising 21 employees.  Then, she worked for Vita Solutions, Inc. as an Armed Security Officer Supervisor.  As an Access Control Site Manager for Beta Analysis, Inc. she monitored access to classified and unclassified information at the Pentagon.   While working there she sustained injuries during the September 11th terrorist attack at the Pentagon.Agnes attended Brooks United Methodist Church during early years and later became a faithful member of Calvary United Church of Jesus Christ, Apostolic where she was a member of the Mass Choir.Agnes dared to be different in fashion and was known for her vibrant personality.  She enjoyed shopping at the Farmer's Market on Saturday and collecting decorative items.  She loved and pampered her two dogs, Trapper and Dexter.Surviving are her husband, Alvin Freeland, Jr., a devoted and loving son, Delfonte Johnson; three sisters, Darlene V. Parran, Doris A. Jacks, and Florence V. Mackall; five brothers, Leroy (Doris) Boldley, Mark (Virginia) Mackall, Louis (Rosalyn) Mackall, Jerome (Allandra) Johnson, Levi (Daria) Butler; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Butler, father, James Johnson, and brother, Bruce Johnson.
