Obituary for ASHLEY SHEREE BARNETT
Ashley Sheree Barnett was called to eternal rest on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Ashley was born on January 22, 1987 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD to Rita Dennis and Stacey A. Barnett. She grew up in Dunkirk MD and attended Traceys Elementary School, Southern Middle School and Southern Senior High School where she graduated in June 2005.
Ashley lived in Lothian, MD and was employed for the Anne Arundel County School Board as a custodian. When it comes to world, she was a jack of all trades and could do anything.
Ashley loved her sports. In school she was a basketball and softball star. She continued her love of sports with her family softball teams, Spriggs Construction and Madison Concrete, Green Turtle, and Brit and Bree. She played softball on the Church League with Wards-Carters United Methodist Church, and the Church of the Harvest teams. She also played kickball with the Calvert County Parks & Recreation - Concrete Balls. What an athletic star she was. Ashley was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Ashley loved her cars. She was a self-taught mechanic from Google. In her lifetime she owned and worked on over 30 cars. Not only did she work on her cars, but family & friends also.
Ashley was a life-long member of Peter's United Methodist Church, Dunkirk, Maryland. She was an acolyte, and member of the Youth Choir. She was also a soloist at a very young age, her requested songs by her Grandmother Genny were "Somebody Prayed For Me" and "J-E-S-U-S".
Ashley leaves to cherish her memories her parents Rita Dennis and Stacey A. Barnett; her grandparents, Roland Hawkins, Genevieve Spriggs, Annabelle & Charles Contee and James Riggs; two sisters, Rolanda Jones and Deja Barnett; three brothers, Stacey Turner, Marcus and Malik Barnett; 2 nieces, Kamryn and Taylor Turner; one nephew, Marcus Barnett, Jr; one god-son, Jakai Levi Coley; and Jesiah Andrew Barnett her son in heart; five uncles, Purnell Spriggs, Charles, Jr, Wayne and Corey Contee, and Gilmore Franklin; a host of great-aunts, great-great-aunts, cousins, family and friends; special cousins, Lakia Parker, Larry Spriggs, Jr., Marvin Coates, Jr. and John Jacks III; a very devoted friend, Doniqua Barrett ("NeNe").
