Obituary for ARTHUR F. SORRELL, JR.
Arthur F Sorrell, Jr., 68, of Lusby, MD passed away on January 4, 2012 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home, Lexington Park, MD. He was born on January 31, 1943 to the late Arthur Sr. and Hannah Sorrell in Lusby, MD. He was known to most as 'Mac Arthur'. Arthur was a resident at Chesapeake Shores for 13 years, after becoming ill due to a stroke. His mother would visit him often and was sure to bring him home for holidays and for other daily visits up until she was unable to do so. His brother Frank would visit him every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday until Arthur's last day here on earth. Arthur was educated in Calvert County Public Schools. He worked in Virginia as a construction worker with his father for a few years and later as a landscaper for Calvert Cliffs, until he became ill. While working he always showed his love and enjoyment for his job by humming his favorite songs throughout the entire day of work. Arthur was a very gentle person who would never harm anyone. This was always shown by his kind gestures and ability to bring a smile to the faces of many. Arthur is survived by his three sisters, Lillian, Shirley and Barbara; one brother, Frank; one nephew, Paul; three nieces Peira, Cynthia and Joanne; two uncles, George and Calvin; and a host of great nieces, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He will surely be missed by all. Arthur was preceded in death by his brother James and nephew Delvin.
