Obituary for ALETHENA ALIVNA MCCOY
Alethena Alvina McCoy, daughter of Clenteous and Gladys Marie McCoy, was born on January 18, 1981, in Washington, DC. She peacefully passed in her sleep after losing her battle with diabetes at the age of 37 on Friday, June 15, 2018 at her residence in Alexandria,VA.
Alethena received her education in the Virginia Public School system in Loudoun County.
Alethena worked as a Contract Specialist for various private agencies in areas of Washington, DC and Maryland.
Alethena was a joy and truly cherished soul who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Alethena aka the Thene to her close friends and family was a style diva. She never followed trends, she was the trend. People wanted to follow her and know her better and for those who did were better for it and her "twirls" will truly be missed.
Alethena leaves to cherish her memories; two children, Kayla and Kalil; granddaughter, Arya; sister, Tarnia; brothers Clenteous and Norman; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins and friends.
