Obituary for ALAN D. MYERS
Alan Derrick Myers was born August 24, 1960, in Prince Frederick, Maryland to Alvin and Sarah (Washington) Myers who preceded him in death. He was surrounded by love and lived a life rich with laughter and joy.
Alan was called home to the Lord on Saturday, August 4th, at the age of 57. He was a gentle and kind man, with a magnetic personality and infectious sense of humor that was truly cherished by friends and family alike. He was a dutiful servant to the Lord throughout his life, receiving the Governor's Citation for 5 years of Faithful Service to Increase Spiritual Growth in 1997. Alan had many bold careers, formerly serving as a correctional officer for the Calvert County Detention Center, a police officer with the Calvert County Sheriff’s department, a driver for Waste Management, TGR Transportation and Bishops Bus Service, and finally, a driver and heavy equipment operator for Calvert County Solid Waste at the time of his passing.
Left to honor his tremendous memory are his two children, MaSara Channele Myers and Brandon Tyrel Myers (Mother, Corrita Ann Johnson Myers). He was their biggest fan and a strong provider for his family. Alan lived his life as we all should, with optimism and hope.
Alan, affectionately called "Moon" or "Alpo", was the baby of the family and loved deeply by his 11 siblings: Teresa Marie, Vernon Maurice, Alvin Wesley, Dwight Michael Sr., MacKinnon Weldon, Barry Lionel Sr. (Darlene), Ralph Winchester Sr. (Yhonnie Diann), Patricia Ann, Humphrey Rayfield (Udora), Clarence Anthony (Wanda), Yvette Almalia.
